Hole in my Pocket

Sunday was.. a rather expensive day.

Daylight savings happened.. giving us an extra hour to laze around and continue with our kdrama rampage with BBF or BOF, whatever tickles your fancy. We had a short day plan; go to Cab to do some minor shopping and a stop over in Banks to get some food and stuffies for the parentals back home.

This is when it gets expensive.. shopping down in Cab… KA CHING. Nomz and I spend $720 in one transaction for 3 items of clothing. 2 x SuperDry leather jackets and a mens winter coat. Justs like that, and we’re poor as! Hahahah… it’s so pretty though, the jacket that is. A short stopover in Banks and the day was done. Well, our day plans were fulfilled… and it was only 4pm! Yay or nay to DLS?

Unfortunately or fortunately, depending how one would analyse the situation, we opt for dinner and skip cooking dinner for the night. Chinese in Ashfield or Japanese at Wagaya? Wagaya it was! And boy, did that dinner turn out to be.. rather expensive too! In a stupid-dumb-head not quite there-way… and this had nothing to do with the food or service. You’ll get my point soon enough.

Wagaya is snazzy, the decor is modern, lots of textures, the walls, the floors, the feature designs, the seating arrangments, the lighting.. it was just.. really snazzy! The place was bustling with patrons too.. AND the nifty bit, the touch screen menu! Who needs waiters when you have a tv screen situated on the wall beside the table where you can peruse through the menu and order whatever you like and as many as you want. Downside? You just keep wanting to order EVEN after eating lotsa food! Hahah..

Takoyaki, Gyoza and Sashimi platter was ordered. Ate that. Then ordered the “recommended” ox tongue. Ate that too. Ordered scallop sashimi. Ate that. Some room left for dessert. Ordered that too! Hahaha.. nhom nhom~

The sashimi platter was DELISH!! They had an assortment of raw seafood, including your typical tuna and salmon, there was also king fish, scallops, scampi <== OMFG, so YUM!!! and other sashimi that was a bit o.O too .. but I still ate it. Heck, I’ll eat just about everything! The ox tongue was really good. I was expecting it to be really tough and chewy but it was surprisingly soft and light, it reminded me of Bo Kho.. mMmm. Nomz fell in love with the sashimi scallops, so we gots more.. tis was pretty tasty! Finally finished it with dessert which was a trio consisting of mochi (I think…), black sesame ice cream (YUM YUM!) and green tea jelly with azuki beans. Ahh.. what a lovely dinner.. the place is awesome, the atmosphere is really nice, and you can even hire a room to have dinner with an entertainment system AND sit on the floor, just like the Japanese people do! We walked back to the car.. and there awaiting for us, A PARKING FINE!!!!! >=(
We forgot to buy a parking ticket and we got finedddddddddddddd. That was a crap ending to an already expensive day! It just got more expensive. BOO.. it just didn’t occur to us to buy a ticket.. so stupid.. daylight savings hammered our thinking. Clearly. Blah.

Nevertheless, ’twas a nice weekend. Oh, anyone going to Jay Chows concert?!
