Splendid weekend was had as close friend from Hong Kong is in town til this Friday. The girls and I haven’t seen her for over 5 years, so it was super awesome that we got to see and catch up with her… just like old times and of course, as always, it was filled with food: Indian, Balinese/ Indonesian and Vegetarian at Hannah’s restaurant. ❤ Nom nom nom!
Oh, and guess what?! Bread Top has finally arrived in Adelaide! OH BOOYAH!
We drove past after dinner on Saturday and us girls literally irrupted into excitement. My tummy that was on the verge of implosion… was suddenly empty and hungry again. Bread Top… you evil thing… oh how I love thee. Ha! We quickly find a park and rush to the store before it closes… Amazing what Bread Top can do to a group of girls in heels. Really.

Guess who’s broke this week? Hahaha… some black flats won’t go astray either.

Have a lovely weekend readers?
I had a rather chill, relaxing and enjoyable weekend which involved a nice late lunch on Saturday and Sunday was spent with the parentals at the markets and the place of all places: Ikea! Oh how I loveeeee (food and random stuff). Came across an awesome print and now scurrying around to find monies to buy that baby… all $280 dollars of it! =D
Other things that I did:
• Finish “The Sartorialist” book, (absolute LOVE – has got me super super motivated), some of the images in that book will be ingrained in me for a long long time and has given me another perspective when looking at people, life and things.
• Fed the ducks last night at the park nearby. Oh they’re so cute… as I was heading towards the pond, all the ducks started flocking over quacking away and devouring the bits of carbs I was throwing at them. Mmmm…. carbs. It took less than 10 minutes to go out and feed those ducks – but it was a really nice simple moment.
• Star gazing. The sky cleared and not a cloud in sight… the sky just twinkled with specs of glitter. Gorgeous!
• And played with my DIY light box, oh what fun!
And to end off:
“To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first.”
So people, get moving and stop waiting for things to fall into your lap! Get out there and make it happen, even if you have to crawl at first to climb that hill.

Last weekend was cookfest Saturday. Sadly I didn’t take any pictures of our mains as I was cooking all day and eating and drinking was only on my mind by then! I made some awesome, yes… awesome garlic sauce like the ones I had at Habib’s in Bankstown, Sydney accompanied with a roast chicken and Lebanese bread. I also attempted to make teriyaki chicken with coke… yes – COKE! Result? Success and absolute deliciousness… mmmmMMm! Lovely Nomi dropped by and helped with some prepping, the parentals tended over the stove and came in with spring rolls in VN prawn crackers, Hannah came with chicken satay sticks with peanut sauce and C came with garlic bread and ingredients to make a homemade Caesar salad! Phew… now that entrees and mains are out of the way… we have dessert made by Tina:
Lime and white chocolate creme caramel - YUM!!! My mum absolutely loved this and was constantly asking Tina on how to make this... which reminds me, I still need to get the recipe from her.. hahah =D
Cause we’re such awesome cooks, we helped C make cupcakes for L’s birthday the following day. Fool proof cupcake concoction out of a box! Gotta love it. 😉
Vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting and m&m's made by and us girls.
Dessert at Rigoni's
Oh, anyone fans of Lipton ice tea peach flavoured? I got a few bottles of these for Saturday, gave the pop a sip who commented that it tasted strange and was convinced he didn’t like it. Next morning, I come downstairs and the bottle’s empty… he’s now secretly addicted to it! Hahahha.. which reminds me, I should buy some more and stock up the fridge. 🙂 It’s Friday tomorrow! Huzzah, any plans for the weekend?

After having dinner with N and P, we headed to the gardens to try poffertjes as everyone has been raving on about how delicious these treats were!
What are poffertjes you ask? They’re a Dutch treat much like mini pancakes but slightly thicker like fluffy pancake pillows, with a slightly runny centre and is served with a heap of powdered sugar and butter.
Patrons lining at the poffertjes stand.
Waiting for the poffertjes to cook in a special made cast iron pan.
Pouring more poffertjes batter.
We got ourselves 2 plates at $6 bucks a pop and shared it amongst ourselves whilst chit chatting away and catching up on the latest goss. Oh such girls we are! I didn’t like them as much as I was hoping too as I found the runny centre too runny and battery where I could still taste the butter and salt… and the mountain of powdered sugar that was dumped upon each plate like a mound kinda scared me too. HA!
On our way out of the gardens, we encounter the famous Fringe astronaut, but this time, it’s a real one! Coming out to play and post for pictures once the sun sets.
Adelaide Fringe astronaut comes out to play with her awesome skirt and neon lights!
Some of the awesome stuff I got this past week: bath set, The Sartorialist book, Mimco coin purse, a birthday crystal kit where I get to grow my very own crystals! Too cool, a hoodie iphone mock, a pin and lipbalm from sweet Lien whilst she was on her HK trip. Thanks everybody! Much love! And Karen, thanks so much for the BB cream! It failed to come into this shot cause it was downstairs.. hahah!
